Midrange Video card upgrade

OK. I'm looking for a pcie videocard below $170usd that can hold me out with moderate graphics for a couple of years. My current setup:
Amd 64 3000 socket 939
512 mb patriot extreme performance(probably soon to be a gig)
crappy CD/HD/video card

I was thinking:
Saphire x800GTO fireblade edition

Is this over kill? Is there something better? thanks

no thats not over kill GTO's are good cards and that should last you a while.

Looks to be a very good card, although they dont list the core clock there. I like Sapphire and have had good expiriences with them. My X700 was a Sapphire card and so is my X1900XT.

This card (X1600XT) is much better. It has SM2.0, and also has higher clock speeds along with 12 pixelpipelines. You can't overclock the X800GTO up past X800XT PE speeds (520/540) without artifacts. It will last you a lot longer.
