Migration from one drive to another

Hey all, my desktop has two SSDs, one is 500GB, which filled up pretty fast, one is 1TB, which is already a third full. I'd like to migrate all of my stuff from the 500GB, except the OS which is on the 500GB, to my 1TB SSD. I'm thinking about using Laplink because, being a novice geek, I've never done anything like this before. I'm assuming I can migrate everything except the OS by using Laplink.

So, is there anything I really need to know before pulling the trigger on this project? The 500GB SSD has less than 50GB of free space, so it's getting a little concerning. Sorry I'm not more specific. I really don't completely know what I'm doing, so feel free to ask questions.

Thanks.

Where is your user folder stored? Such as documents, pictures, music, etc? You can easily change the drive location where they are stored. To be honest, that's about the only data that can be moved to a different drive without breaking things.

Those are simple answers, which is apparently all that I need. My novice is showing.

At any rate, thank you. I'll follow your suggestions. I always appreciate you guys.
