Minimised screen how do i get it back to normal?

Recently, instead of running in the typical full screen, dos at startup has been running in a minimised and centered screen, as are games and some other apps, although windows and its applications, such as MS word, still run in normal full screen mode. I've seen this happen many times before but its never happened to me before and i've never found out how to fix it, the resolution is normal so its not that, i dont know if it may be the graphics driver or something. Could anyone help me with this problem? Thanks in advance for any help.

If you ricght click an Icon on the desktop and select properties you can choose to open in minimized form or full screen...

it is run: Normal window, minimized or maximized...

Is that what you are talking about?

No that's not what i'm refering to. DOS, or the startup before Windows is supossed to boot in full screen but instead it uses a centered minimised window, just DOS doing it is bad enough, but some other programs are doing it as well. But as i said i dont understand it coz windows is working normally, it must be related to programs using RAM or something. Around the minimised window is just black and everything is minimised automatically to fit.
