Miscellaneous in Control Pannel

I was cleaning up my computer when I came across a "Miscellaneous" icon in my control pannel. The icon is a smilie face with a hammer and screw driver beside it. What is this? I know it's not a default thing for windows because I've got many other comps with XP on them that don't have this. I can't think of anything I installed recently that would of placed it here...

I double clicked it and nothing happened. Being so generic it's hard to find anything on google...

I just ran adaware and found nothing on my computer period. I think I have S&D so I'll try that real quick, too...

hi,
The icon on ur CP, is not a default one by the PC as u have said, as u know sometimes when u install some software (usually large one), and u don't have the correct license, so u need to make it work without paying fees (the same as crack it), also some software needs some other services in order to work correctly, for example: I had installed the Oracle 9i on my computer, and then I go to control panel, and then I see a strange icon, its label is : NUT cracker 7, I think that it is a spy ware or something, but then I had discovered that it is downloaded with the oracle DB.
hope that this will help u

ready for more questions.

it sounds like you installed a program the does some sort of repair
like "fix-it-utilities".
look on your desktop and see if you have a program icon that does some sort of repair or fix.
also the icon should have a name under it what does it say?
if your not sure then run a virus scan on it or go to google and run a search on it and see what you come up with.
but like i said it is more than likely a repair program.

also you can check and see if you have a folder on it most of the time there is a text. page in the folder that you can read.
