Mistakes people make when buying a video card

does anyone have any good reads they could post here about benchmarks and there meanings and what not?? I wanna build a new system soon but i want it to be elite and massively compatible for itself.

ok so idk how elite you want it to be but the 280 from nvidia is the top line nothing can beat thing as far as i know you might want to go with a super huge 1tb hdd and a velociraptor for spead... as far as RAM goes i would perfer patriot corsiar or buffalo if you can get your hands on it (love the buffalo) depending on the mobo you use idk about amd but as far as intel go with that again depends on what socket tell me what mobo and what socket and ill try to figuer that out for you

All of those are incredibly common and stupid mistakes. The only one of those I've ever made was when I calculated wrong how many watts my computer would use with the newer card and eventually blew out my PSU. Lesson learned to say the least.
