mlc vs slc

i want to try a ssd but i don't know the difference between mlc and slc i will be using for my os

SLC SSDs are generally faster than MLC SSDs.

On paper, MLC drives look great dont they? Higher capacity, cheaper price, but they have downsides. One is that they dont last nearly as long as an SLC drive, are slower per read/write, and since each cell holds 3-4bytes, when writing lots of small files are somewhat slower/ineffecient compared to an slc. SLC is better, but costs more
