Has anyone ever heard of ASRock MOtherboards and if so how are they?

There a cheaper board, think there made by Asus that got bought out by Gigabyte

They are mainly used for budget systems. They aren't very good quality (one of the reasons they are able to sell so cheap), in my opinion, but they do the job OK. I suppose they're good if all you want is for your system to work. If you want more features, or overclocking potential, don't buy an ASRock Motherboard.
