What is the best chipset to use also?

And is Core 2 Duo fully 64-bit ready, so I could install Windows XP x64?

Budget? The Gigabyte 965P-DS3 or 965P-S3 are good options.

What is the best chipset to use also?

P965 or 975X are my favourites (not all 975X boards are compatible, though).

And is Core 2 Duo fully 64-bit ready, so I could install Windows XP x64?

Yes, you could, although I still prefer the 32-bit edition, mainly due to driver support.

I have the Core Two Duo E6400 and I have the Gigabyte mobo. Its a good mobo for over clocking. I have had no problems with it so far. It works very good.

Dont get windows 64. Its overrated, and theres no need for it.
