i have a friend here that cant sign in so im writing this for him he wants to know if this mobo is a good one for multimedia and gaming

ASUS L1N64-SLI WS Dual Socket L (Socket 1207FX) NVIDIA nForce 680a SLI MCP SSI CEB AMD Motherboard

I guess its ok, its got pretty good features, just not the cheapest motherboard in that range though. I think there are cheaper boards with similar performance out there.

socket1207FX?? i think this type is usually used in server work,am i right?
did you mean you want that type?

If it's an FX board like that then it'll be for AMD's version of makeshift quad-core; slap 2 FX74's on the same board. It has one disadvantage, unlike the Core 2 Quad the 2 CPU's have to communicate via the motherboard whereas I believe the Core 2 Quads only have tom communicate between the 2 dies onboard.

asus

hi all im the kid that is looking into that it uses two amd Athlon 64 FX-74 Windsor 3.0GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket F (1207 FX) DSDC Architecture and i dont think its for server work i have seen it in game system i just wanted to if you all think its a good mobo

I'd personally go for a Core 2 Quad and an Asus Commando but I know it's expensive, how much does this setup cost?

i would but i dont like intel dont know but i like AMD just do i just always have and you can only put in AMD Athlon 64 FX-74 Windsor 3.0GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket F (1207 FX) DSDC Architecture Processor form what i have seen if you put in AMD quad cores in i would
