Mobo Recommendation for SSD and IDE RAiD 0

I have an ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 with an AMD Phenom II 955, 4x 4GB DDR3 RAM, two WD Black 500GBs in RAID 1, and an ASUS Radeon HD 6770 video card. I tried to add a Samsung SSD 840 Pro for my OS and use my two WD Black 500GBs in RAID 1 for file storage.

The mobo won't recognize the SSD. Tried every BIOS setting, removed all other drives, etc.,...no good. Tested the SSD on another computer, so I know it's good. Sent the mobo back on an RMA for repair. It was supposedly repaired and returned...still doesn't recognize the SSD. I welcome any ideas, but suspect the mobo is bad or can't handle the SSD.

It's been a while since I've started a new build. I'm looking for a new mobo, preferably one that will allow me to use my CPU/RAM and will support an SSD for the OS and a RAID 1, plus my optical drive. I've had good luck with ASUS and ABIT, but I'm not tied to them.

Is the SSD recieving power from your PSU?

My only thought is that your SSD is getting enough to work..

Is it the Bios or Windows not seeing the drive? Like above, you sure your not just hooking up the SATA cable. Is the power SATA power connector plugged into the drive?
