This will be my first self-built computer. I plan on using it mainly for everyday kinda stuff. I listen to alot of music and want great sound for a reasonable price, I also play games, I just don't like consoles. I don't get incredibly into it, but I could easily play a game for a few hours. This computer may also get moderate photo editing and design time. I like to create 3d renders with Blender. I also want this board to very versatile. In that I can upgrade it for sometime to come. Also I'd prefer to keep it realtively simple. I don't really want to troubleshoot for hours to make it run and I'll probably never over clock the CPU. Also I plan on adding a TV tuner, and some form of HD DVD playability.
With this in mind and I have a $2k limit would prefer $1700 limit and I'm pretty sure I want an Intel E6660 CPU. Unless someone can convince me otherwise, and I'm open to suggestions.
I've been searching online (newegg, tomshardware..etc) and on these forums for what people are using and buying for thier needs. I know Asus has a very good reputation, and MSI is another favorite.
So hopefully my ?requirements? (for lack of better wording) are clear.
I've found these two boards which seem to be recommended alot on here.

and

EDIT:
I just found this one. I wouldn't buy an open box, but this looks like a pretty good board?

Other than I know I want to upgrade Video and Audio without a doubt for more than likely under 200 a piece. I don't really know what else to say...There's so much out there I really didn't know where to start. So if you don't think these would be the best I'm completely open to ideas/suggestions.
I guess you could consider this a
broad-slightly-higher-than-general-use-system.
hah thanks in advance, if you need to know something more please ask.
thanks again.
