Mobo wont work in case?

when i screw my mobo into the case, it doesnt turn on at all, when i unscrew it, it works fine. can anyone help?

specs:
msi 870a-g54
elite 310 with 460w psu
955 black edition
46701gb

You are shorting out the board to the case, are you using the brass standoffs?

no. i was using #6-32-6 screws

If you don't have the risers between the case and the motherboard, you are shorting it out and thats why it won't boot up.
