I have a original xbox 360, one of the ones with the overheating problems. It has been repaired once, but now it is not under guarantee anymore. To make sure this didnt happen agian, so I made a few changes.

Damn, that's nice! I want to do that to mine, but mine's under a Best Buy warranty that I wouldn't give up for anything (it turned my 360 Pro into an Elite after RROD)
 
I have a fairly new model, Jasper I think it was, and it's actually quite silent compared to others I've heard. Though it does get a little more toasty than I really want.
 
i dont see this fixing an rrod problem, for one its not the heatsinks themselves its also the poorly designed case, but i do have to admit it looks pretty cool.
 
From my understanding the rrod had to do with crappy cooling, which lead to overheating, which melted the solder on the board

Lol. That's what everyone is saying. Its not that hard though. We worked on it for like 2 hours tops. You just need some plexi-glass and some small blue fans and you should be fine. You have to be extra careful so that you don't cut the side panel wrong because its not that easy to find a new one.
 
Man I have been thinking for a while now about getting a cheap used 360 and just modding the heck out of it

It would keep me busy for a little while

When mine goes out of warranty I will probably try it...need to buy it off my mum though before then, it is technically hers because she bought it to play guitar hero and rock band (oh yes, my mum likes rock band :D) but she never uses it now, I am the only one who does
