Hey guys. I'm looking for any modding policies for Skyrim and Arma 2, but I'm having trouble coming across them. Anyone know where I can find this information?

Policies? Well technically your not legally allowed to modify any game.

Well, yes you are, as long as you are within the game or company's modding policy or terms of use. Here is Minecraft's TOU, which include's its modding policy.

And besides that, it's just for research. I'm not actually modding anything.

ARMA is awesome for modding.

Some mods that I'd recommend for ARMA 2:

JSRS 1.5 (soundmod, its amazing)
Blastcore/WarFX
CBA (Community base addons)
ACE
STHud (basically a minimap that shows friendlies if you're in a squad)
Fullscreen nightvision is good as well

Well....thanks for that, I suppose.

I found a Terms of Use for the Skyrim "Creation Kit" modding tool. I still can't find any sort of terms for modding Arma 2. Again, any help would be great.

OR, if you guys know of a mod for another game that has a published modding policy/terms of use/EULA (with modding terms), I could use that.

For arma your best of asking on BIS forum. They are ridiculously well informed over there.

Bit arsey but should have the information you need.

The wiki is pretty extensive too so you may be able to find it there.

I suppose some games like that would legally allow you to mod them, since they rely on the modding community in order to be good.

However with most major titles, in the EULA it states that you are not allowed to modify the game. Although like anything else over the internet, its not like they are really going to pursue every violator.

This is because you are not actually buying the game, your buying a license to play it.

Nope, I'm pretty sure Bohemia Interactive imbraces modding, Troncoso is unsure how leaniant Bohemia is about modding and distrubiting the mods, etc.

As I said, if the TOU or EULA states that modding is allowed, then it is legal.

And it's not that I'm unsure about the policy, I just need something that's documented for my research. A school thing, you know? Regardless, I couldn't find it, so I went with Half Life and the Source SDK instead. Thanks for the help everyone.
