Modem/Router (cant use outlook express)

I hope im in the right section.

I just bought a 2Wire 1000 Modem/Router. It connected to the internet fine and was able to surf no problem. Problem is when I open Outlook Express I cannot get my messages. It comes up with the error code -

The server responded with an error. Account: 'pop3.tiscali.co.uk', Server: 'pop3.tiscali.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90

I use Avg Anti Virus which I tried switching off but made no difference

I use Zonealarms Firewall which I turned off but made no difference.

The Modem/Router itself has a firewall built on too but it is set to allow POP3 and SMTP servers (which is what I use)

I disconnect the Modem and attach my old DSL Modem and everything works fine. It is only when I connect the new Modem.

Help me please.:(

Conflict of already used port by AVG

Turn it OFF (ctrl alt del) and then see if it still doesnt work..
It is specifiying that AVG is the connflict..
