Right ok i have this and once again i reccomended intel and ati for gameing
Well theres your first mistake. AMD has been proven in benchmarks to be better then intel at gaming. And what makes you say ati? And Intel and ati at that?

What do you suggest?

i suggest an AMD and a 6800GT or x800gto, or a 7800gt if you can afford it. AMD is the best for gaming.

and apparently other things as the benchmark we just all saw. Try to get an amd x2 if you want to encode dvds. The cheapest x2 is the 3800 and you can definetly get it into your budget. Get alteast a gig of ram and a nice 6800gt or above.

Im just saying what i like dosnt mean that everyone needs to think the same as me

isn't it in his interest to go with the best performing option rather than what someone else likes? obviously people have their preferences but here we try to recommend items that give best performance for the money in the activity they wish to do.
also, bear in mind that "i like this just because i prefer it" has caused many arguements and has lead to thread being closed because they have lead to flaming and just general unpleasantness in the past. if you're going to recommend something thats not considered the norm at least try and give some justification for that :)

a nice dual core CPU will see you fine, as recommended. all of the graphics cards recommended are also good choices but go with the best that you can afford. make sure that you get a good PSU as this will help with the higher end cards and help maintain your system stability.
If you wanna do some reading on the items here look at PSU 101, CPU 101 and Video 101
