Ok so im thinking i want a modular psu, not for any particular reason? i just want one.

whats a good cheap one?
500-550 watt preferably.

not the Antec BP550 or Corsair 520HX
the first i dont like and the second is too expensive.

is there anything cheaper that is still good quality or should i give it a miss?

thanks :)

I know it expensive, but the Corsair 520HX is simply fantastic. Silent, efficent, awesome modular cables. Its a winner!

ok well i reckon it will be a long time till i get one if i do decide to get one that expensive.
in october im buying a new case.
the psu will come next

ok well im gonna keep looking around. but as its so long before ill probably get one.. we'll see.

im thinking it would be best to get a corsair 620HX. im planning to get a job when i get back to australia... so i should be able to afford one there

There aren't quite so many choices here in Australia. If the HX520 is a bit too much, you might want to look at the Antec Neo 500. Not quite as good, but still a respectable modular unit at a slightly lower price. Personally, I'd spend the extra on the Corsair unit, though.

The HX620 is a great unit.

yes well if i get some money together then ill get the HX520.
but im happy with my antec earthwatts 500... a modular psu would only be to satisfy my desire... not really necessary though haha
