Moniter problems

every 30-60 mins my moniter turns bright for 1 sec then turns completely black. It stays black until i turn it off and back on again. Usually i just turn the moniter off for about 3 mins and turn it back on and works completely fine until it happens again.

anybody know any posible reasons why this is happening?
 
What kind of monitor? Either way it sounds, to me, like a failing monitor, but that's more of the kind of problem I'd expect from a CRT... Is there some way to test your system with another monitor just to narrow it down?

:D You should always keep any parts of a computer when in use in a well ventilated space. Try taking it out and put it in your open room and use it normally for a couple of days. If it still persists, it probably means that damage could have already been done and you might need a new one.
