Is it even possible to find a 19inch or bigger flat screen, thats even "semi" decent? I'll be using it for gaming. I'\ll be getting 200$ to spend soon, and 50$ is goign to the_other_one, and the other part i was planning on spending to fix the heater for my house, but i managed to rig up a replacment part with alot of welding lol

So i thought maybe its time to get rid of my 19inch CRT, had it sfor over 10 years, i think it long lived its purpose, although it was a NICE moniter for its time.

I dont want to downgrade in size, an upgrade would be nice, but I dont think its doable, if even the same size is doable for a decent one I don't care if its refurbished or used as long as its decent and works, and also not afriad of ebay, if i can get one that is decent(dont need anything great) for 150$ then any recomendations?

Of course there are. I assume you are talking about a 19inch LCD right? Your post seems that you feel that LCD's are not good for gaming? If that is your worry then worry not. There are plenty. Look around the lower the response the better and the contrast you also want to keep an eye on. I find even a low contrast of 550:1 decent. Higher of course better. With a fast response you'll get no ghosting. takes time to get used to an LCD image over a CRT. They truly do look different. I'll never go back to a CRT if I can help it.

WEll to my knowlegde low quility ones with abd responce times arn't godo for gaming, and everyone seems to be saying expensive good responce times are.

My main probelm now after looking a it more is finding one that has a decent max resalutions, i like high res.

I recently purchased a Viewsonic VA902b and I am completely satisfied with this product! The only problem that I had with this LCD is that whenever I cranked the resolution above 1,024x768 the text would come out smeared... but I never pushed the auto-adjust button until I realized it 3 hours later:rolleyes: Good thing is is that it has an 8ms response time and CS:S could never look any better! I think the text looks just as clear on this monitor as it does on CRT's. I didn't like this monitor at first, but whithin 20 minutes of CS:S with it it became my new love:D

Here ya' go bro! Hope you like it...

150$ NOT 270$

... welll... If you happened to stumble upon $120.. then you know what to do! :D

Actually I got this monitor for about 140 after a 210 dollar rebate and other percent take offs... dad got it for me for around 130-140... good deal for such a good monitor! :)

I dont think i would ant to spend that much on a moniter anyways, well that is at least on my current income, if i won 50mill tomorrow in the lottery then thats a different story, i would be spending a few grand on a NICE progector and screen.

A 19" LCD will be a size upgrade from a 19" CRT - with a CRT monitor a significant part of the screen size is wasted since the plastic case extends over it. Not really sure which monitor to suggest though, I still prefer a CRT.
