Monitor and Internet Problems

After system restoring my dell computer because i downloaded a program off wincustomize.com that messed up explorer.exe, I have noticed a few problems after the restore.

1-The monitor won't go past 640x800 (I believe that's it), before it used to go up to 1280x1024 but now...no.
2-The network can't find or connect to the DHSP and so I called comcast and they said they couldn't help.

This is what happens when parents but computers without any kids help.:mad:

so PLEASEEEEE help because my stepdad is totally flippn'
i have put in every cd i could find for the cpu and they don't do anything
 
640x480, I beleive is what you meant. I'd bet most anything you don't have video drivers loaded. CPUz is a free program that should tell you what video card you have, or if you know it, you can just search for the drivers...

Seeing as your video drivers probably aren't installed, I wouldn't be suprised if your network drivers aren't ether. Check that out first... If everything is loaded under Device Manager, we'll get a bit more indepth.
 
Try uninstalling the video card drivers and reinstalling them. As for the network DHCP stuff..., same thing. Also check the network settings in Windows to see what the DHCP settings are...
