Monitor, best bang for my buck?

Hey all right now I have a NEC Multisync 97F

It works alright, but I want to dual screen and all the reveiws say that this monitor is either hit or miss. Well, I know that looking at two different monitors can be annoying so whats the best bang for my buck? I would like to purchase two monitors maybe.... :o

It really depends on what yor going to be doing on your PC, if your gaming a lot then you will want to loko for a low response time and a high refresh rate. If you are doing simple image editing and word processing then perhaps a mid range respomse time. Resolution, the absolute minimum you should be looking at is 1024x768 a recommended would be 1280x1024.

What are you planning on doing on your PC??

Oh Im a gamer, sorry I meant to say that, I mostly play MMORPGs but I occasionally pick up some other regular titles. Other then that I use firefox and microsoft word. But I would want something more responsive to games.

EDIT: Also I use the Nvidia e-GeForce 6600 GT

Right, if your gaming a lot then you need a high refresh rate and its probably best to go with a CRT as the respons times are much much lowere and the general image is a lot crisper. Whats your budget?

Well I'd like to buy two of them, so I'm thinking maybe 120 each? A decent size if if possible, but like i said, the best bang for the buck would be great. If it cost more but is a great monitor I might be interested.

You could get a monitor at about 16ms, or 8ms even better. You wont see any ghosting then.

Dragon is right in that a crt is the best picture bank for buck, but if you have 2 crts of a decent size (as you suggested) then you better have a big desk :D

Oh and is 120 pounds or dollars

lol ok 120 dollars! My desk isnt huge, but I'm not against cutting out some of the compartments I dont use. Trust me Im a resourceful guy, I can make room. The monitor I have now is 19" I would really only prefer to go down to an 18"

Alright, well what should I be looking for in a monitor? I dont want LCD I want a CRT. But what should I look for?
Generally, if it's a gaming setup, what I personally would be looking for is the ability to handle 1280X1024 @ 85Hz. I'd also take a look at reviews just to make sure that there aren't many problems with the particular make of monitor. Other than that, it's pretty much aesthetics.
