Monitor Cracked? Purple lines devouring my screen!!

Hey guys, been long since ive been on here with a problem!
I have been taking my laptop into sixth form for a while and it must of bumped something, its now 'cracked'.
Started off with a tiny purple line at the bottom of the screen however its widened and i opened it the the other day and all along the top are lines coming downwards. will try uploading a picture if you want...
anything i can do ?? if i can't fix it i will try the insurance, is there anyway i can prolong the lines getting bigger, ha?
Its a laptop btw

If the laptop is insured then have them replace the screen or whatever they do,that will most likely be what they will do!

I dont think theres any other way to fix it :/
