monitor drivers

I just bought a monitor viewsonic model VE710b and I just wanted to know if the drivers that come with monitors are really necessary for the videos and games to be seen with the adequate quality. Or are they just extras.

note : these monitors are play and plug of course, it works perfectly without the rs, but do drivers make the picture to be seen better.

No, I never install monitor drivers. As long as windows sets the monitor up as a Plug and Play monitor, you should be fine. Even if it doesn't, it's really just to prevent you from goign over the max resolution, Hz, and such.
