Monitor goes black.

Hi, I have a HP, about 5 yrs old, and it's been pretty good till now, when it's been off overnight, and is turned on all is good for about 15 min, then the monitor goes black and will display will say "lost power, or connection". When this happens if you wait about 10 min. it may come back on, but sometimes you have to turn the tower of a couple of times. After it has been on for awhile it does good and stays on, any ideas, thanks John.

Most likely a bad video card. Does it have onboard video or does it have a dedicated card? Also have you took a can of compressed air and blew out the inside of the case.
