hi all

i have most recently changed my graphics card from a radeon 9200se 128mb to a nvidia fx5200 256mb. but now when i use the nvidia card it displays the bios setup/loading and the xp loading but then the monitor goes on standby as soon as windows starts (welcome screen) i had the card working for a week fine but them i started using the monitor for another system, which shouldnt effect it but it has. the ati card works fine i have had this problem before and was overcome by installing two graphics card on the same system one pci the other agp dont know why it does this. can anyone explain this to me and try to solve

any suggestions would be great

thanks

na ive got all the lastest drivers and updates, it worked fine with the same setup as i have now so i really cant understand it. this is a common problem for me when messing with graphic cards/monitors on different systems but ive never understood it, it usually just fixes itself after constantly messing about, but it dont seem to be happening this time

yeah i dont know why they left that in the manual or bios since the P4G533LA doesnt have an AGP slot, but theres a space for it though maybe upgradable lol.

but now when I use the nvidia card it displays the bios setup/loading and the xp loading but then the monitor goes on standby as soon as windows starts (welcome screen)
Resolution outside of monitor/video-card spec? Does it work ok when you use safe mode?

Did you uninstall the ATi drivers before popping in the new card? :)

problem solved

thanks for all your responces but the problem has now been solved somehow the setting have been change but was solve by restoring the last config on the safe mode menu (F8) for XP

thanks again
