Monitor help with an IPS screen....

Hello,

I am currently running a Dell WFP 2407 24" IPS monitor. I do not game but I do edit 5-10 digital pictures at a time from RAW to .TIF and then to .jpg for use in an online store.

I have a new computer coming that can run whatever I need to do and thought it is a perfect time to get a new monitor since this one has some "rubbing" type marks on the screen that annoy me to no end.

I was looking at the Dell U2410 and the NEC PA241 which is twice the price. I prefer running at 1900 x 1200 ( I have never used 1900 x 1080) and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a "True to Color" monitor or a comparison on these 2 considering the price difference?

One other thought......what would running 2 x 22 inch monitors do for me in this instance? The programs that run all day are Browser, Excel, Quickbooks, ACDsee Pro and Skype.

Any input is welcome. Thank you

Elliot

Hi,

I think IPS is best for Digital Photos......and I know I do not want a tn. If there is any technology that has improved over the IPS...then that is fine.

I was looking to spend $500-$700 for the 24". I would go up to the $950 for the NEC PA 241 but somehow I feel that may be overkill for my needs.

Thank you

Question

Thank you.

I see the Apple is 2560 by 1440 pixels on a 27".....I am used to a 24" 1900 x 1200....

Do you know of a website where I can see the size of the text compared next to each other for both screen sizes?

If you live in Austin TX, I am sure there is an Apple reseller near you where you can see it in person.

Text size shouldn't be a problem. It has higher resolution, yes, but it's spread across a significantly larger screen than what you're used to.

27"

Good points...thank you.

I can go to the Apple store and view the 27 and the 24 and see how the sizing of the text compares.

Years ago I tried using screens that were increased or decreased from the native resolution and it was a nightmare.

I appreciate the help
