Monitor help

I've made a thread about this before, still need help with it.

Ill explain in detail the stuff im using and the problems ive been having.

Using a hd tv as a monitor with a hdmi cable

The problems im having:
On start up sometimes the screen doesn't show up just says no signal
sometimes after the computer has been running fine nothing appears on screen again no signal.

This morning i left my computer on with downloads downloading using jdownloader everything was working fine good download speeds then i tell my sister to check my downloads whilst at work she says no signal again and hardly any of the downloads have finished even though the PC is on.

Also like to add im using a hdmi switcher (get more hdmi sockets for a tv)

its a full hd tv so it should handle anything, been working fine for me now.

if the mobo light is red it works if no red led light appears it doesn't show on my tv
