Monitor keeps resetting resolution

Just lately, my monitor has been randomly changing its resolution from 1680x1050 to 1400x1050. It usually happens whenever I start up the computer, as I'm logging in. It just happened again a minute ago, as I was logging in after I locked it. Just to see what the problem was, I locked it agian and logged back in again after that, but the problem didn't arise. Does this sounds like just a driver issue? I'm going to reinstall the driver, but the problem isn't very consistent so I won't know if it helped for a while. Just wondering what your opinions are. Thanks

turn everything off. Unplug your monitor, reseat your graphics (pull it out and put it back in), plug your monitor back in, and power up. It could also be a driver issue.
