monitor or video card problem..[PIC]

the fact that the pink lines showed up in the screenshot leads me to believe the video card is to blame..but....let me explain in detail. For the past few days, the temperature here has been incredibly hot,(LA), and whenever my case starts heating up more than it normally does, i've been getting these crazy flickering pink lines covering up the screen. Also, after 30 seconds or so, simply moving around the windows, (which the lines will stay in while being moved), gets rid of the problem, even though it sticks in my gadgets and the clock area in the bottom right until i move or resize them as well. The fact that the lines fit to every window leads me to believe this is somehow vista's fault...I have a radeon 9800, (about 3 years old, but still runs newer games and vista gave it a 5.9...), and the latest ATI driver for it. Here's a pic:

Hehe your korean...
You should install heatspreader on your graphic card if that doesnt work, do you have another computer? Try plugging your video card on other computers and if the pink lines appear again your video card is probably fried or dead.
OR
Try booting your computer in safe mode if you never tried.. if that works you should delete the ATI driver COMPLETLY and install it again in safe mode, that worked for my old computer(Really old barely plays starcraft and diablo 2)

>_>,lol wrong, I'm indian, that was a link from digg comparing god of war 2 480p to 1080p. D:
Well you're probably right about the heat, and all my other comps are laptops.
I guess i'll just turn on the ac.

Hehe srry about that(That link is in korean lol), well if you start seeing green lines and your screen becomes wobbly then its well as dead, but if it stays as pink lines then its probably fried. and when you install heat spreaders, try not to push it so hard, it could cause lot of problems. (I did that on accident on GeForce 5 series once, it was brandnew but I had to throw it away it... started showing funky green lines)

....which means i do what? meh, forget it, I'm not gonna buy a new video card for this 3 year old computer unless it stops working completely.
green only comes up if i have a video playing at the time...but right now it's bearable, it goes away after 20 or so seconds. *sigh*.
