Monitor Problem! [IMPORTANT]

I have an eee PC and i go to properties and i click settings and i do all of that stuff to set up the monitor and getting it working then when i click "Use This Device As My Primary Monitor" on the monitor that iv bought the whole monitors screen goes Blank and the only screen that i can see is the normal eee PC one... Can anyone help and does anyone have the same problem???

I take it you want the laptop screen to be off while the seperate monitor is on. You might try messing around with the "Function" (Fn) button at the bottom of the keyboard. Hold it down and press the appropriate F key at the top of the keyboard (possibly F8). It will toggle through your monitor configurations.

I don't see it working in the first place unless done right. Never the less try 'FN' + 'F8'. Even if yours is different than mine it will be a FN + (one of the 'F' keys. f8 is mine.
