Monitor Problem

I recently got a new computer package and it has been about 2 weeks. Since Monday, the monitor was acting funny. It would just turn off and appear to be idle(light blinking) then it would just turn on. A couple of minutes would pass and it would do it again. Sometimes it would repeat the same process 3 or 4 times.

does it do it while you are actually using the computer?

Yeah, actually it happened while I'm typing this.

It doesn't really effect me much but it adds up. Like, if i'm playing a game online it would just go blank then go on by itself then turn off then on again. My settings for the monitor is 'Always on' and the options are all Never.

The more it happens the more frustrated I get. >.<

it might be your video card or a loose monitor connection
