Monitor problems

Sometimes at startup my monitor does not come on or it is very faint. I hooked my laptop to a desktop monitor and the screen came up on the desktop monitor without a problem. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like there's a short in your backlight... There's not a whole lot you can do. it's a very common problem, I'm afraid.

It's a bad inverter or lamp. You'll have to replace it or the whole panel- whichever you feel like doing.
