Monitor Question

Hello Computerforum!

I have a question regarding my graphic card on my laptop and external monitor.

When I read in the manual about the graphic card, it says that the limit on external monitor resoulution is 1600x1200..

And now I've been looking on a new very nice monitor and it's on 1920x1080 resoulution..

I'm not sure what will happend? Will it look bad and become blurry? Or not work at all?

Thanks

I think it would work, but you just wouldn't be able to utilize the full resolution capabilities of your monitor - I would think that it would look OK though in 1600x1080...

Can you post the make/model of the monitor you're looking at and your card, so that we can be sure?

Thanks for answers, yeah was thinking I couldnt use whole range..

My graphic card is Ati Radeon Express 200m
And the Monitor could be Samsung Xl2370, not sure about this now..
Maybe there is another that's "smaller" that I can buy, which I could use to this graphic card? Since it feels like a waste buying a 23" and can't use it fully..

Or does a 23" screen with 1600x1080 look "bigger" then a for example 20" with same resoultion?

There's 1680x1050 screens, but I can't choose them?

Seems like I gotta go down in size ? But not so many screens with these sizes...
If I can't choose for example 1400x1200 in my "graphic card list" does this mean I cant have a screen like this?
