I have a dell inprion 1000 and it has windows vista on it etc yesterday i boot it up and i get nothing on the screen i can here the fans and after a min the fans go off and i get the power light on and i cannot open the cd drives or nothing.
I think it is the motherboard.
Have you have any suggestions.

ok well i have no idea. its not as easy to find the problem as it is on a desktop... is it still under warranty?

It might also be power or cabling - faulty cabling and power supply...but chances are that it is motherboard

Thanks guys i got dell out and they said that basically the whole system needs replacing so they gave me a new one for free the same.
