Laser TV's are coming out soon.
And I am sure they can be used as a monitor ....

Do I wait for that?
Or do I buy a 20''+ wide screen?

How long are you willing to wait? =) laser TV wont be out until Christmas season and that's just TV's not computer monitors. I think it'll be some time before we move away from LCD's, and when the first generation of the next technology comes out you know it'll be expensive. Plus if you buy a widescreen LCD you can always sell it and get a few bucks back out of it to invest in whatever you want to step up to. Really though I think it'll be years from now before LCD even begins to phase out.
