are there any programs out there where i can monitor the temperature of my CPU

i have speedfan but i dont know which one is my CPU

i have 3 "IT8712F"
an HD0
and ACPI

which one is my CPU

how should i know? Maybe Asus's site isnt up to date atm... i have 1.03.01 installed,. and that came with the CD of my motherboard

I wouldn't worry about that since Probe II 1.01.01 came with the cd here. At first I had it set for the cpu and board temps on detachable displays that you could move around like icons. But I already have enough wavs assigned to different functions. :P The earlier version doesn't have any sounds with it. :D

The idea of SpeedFan and others is to monitor temps while Windows is running. When and if you are able to minimize a full screen app or game you can check on the cpu temps there. Otherwise you would be rebooting the system every so many minutes just to go to the hardware monitor to see what it shows.

Once you are at the http://www.support.asus.com support site's main page seen there you simply click on the downloads link and select product: board, type: 939 or 940 or AM2 or whatever, and model number: A8N SLI or another and press the search button. That will bring you to a page with several sections with one for the Latest, driver updates, bios, manual, all, and utilities. You will find only the Probe II at this time there.
