More Cache=Better?

Can someone clarify this fore me please. The Phenoms seem to have a much lower Cache rating than the Intels. Why? What is the difference between L1, L2, and L3? Does this have something to do with the Phenoms being a true quad and the Intels just being 2 dual-cores stuck together?

Put simply, yes, more is better. It's far from being the most important thing, but it does matter. Phenoms are proven to be slower than the Intel quads, so far, though we'll have to wait and see how the Denebs do.

It's unclear what the differences in L2 and L3 cache are in real-world applications. Some say that L2 is more important for gaming, but Intel and AMD both seem to be moving toward less L2 and more L3 with improved results.

I think it's more about the total.
