more than one computer to internet

how can i connect more than one computer to the internet in a household? i have a dsl connection. is there a tool or something i can buy? what's it called?

you will have to have a router

i use a wireless router, through which i connect, my laptop computer, wirelessly.
the desktop is directly connected to the internet.

how much did you buy your router(s) for? which/what should i look for in a router? just wireless?

i got a D-Link wireless G 54Mb/s router for 20 bucks at Fry's Electronics but it had some rebates.... and that one that your looking at is not that good, it's wireless B and has a max transfer of 11Mb/s

You should look for a wireless G or better , and to lisk a couple good brands LinkSys , D-Link , and there's somemore but I can't think of them rite now...

i got my linksys lent out to me :-D didnt need to spend a dime on mine

a crossover cable is enough for just two computers.

I have a Netgear. You can buy a whole "kit" at Costco for under $200.

You don't need to network the PCs either, if you want you can just use it to connect all of them to the Internet.

If you have a laptop you will love it!
