More windows 7 questions.

Okay i have some more questions:

Can i upgrade from 32bit to 64bit without losing files?
Do i need to get all my drivers or will win7 install correct ones?
Has anyone had issues with activating?
What kind of performance increase will i see going from vista ultimate to 7 ultimate?

Win7 installs drivers for everything including graphics card. I popped in my GTS 250 and guess what, all resoltuons were available and it even recognized it as GTS 250 and even XFX!
I had no issues when activating, entered the key during installation, the first time you log in you will be asked to activate online, takes roughly 8-9s xD
Some games like Win7 better than Vista. Most of DX9 games will be about 10% faster, thats what I found.

Yes and no. It wont keep anything that's installed but you don't really need to wipe the drive you're installing to.

It should get them all automatically. Anything that's missing it will give you the option to install with windows update.

I don't know. Probably faster boot times and less RAM usage after startup.
 
Alright, one last thing. I got the .iso for the 64 bit verson and burnt it to a disc (legally)

When I insert it into my DVD drive, it says the version of windows I am on is incompatible, and to restart the computer with the disc in the drive.

Is this a normal symptom of going from 32 bit to 64 bit?
 
Cant do it from within windows. Need to boot to it. Plus you cant upgrade from a 32 bit to a 64 bit. Clean install, two ways, either backup your data, reformat and do a clean install. Or make backups and just install it over the vista and 7 will make a Windows Old folder with Vista in it in the windows folder.
