Hi guys hopefully someone can help me out,

I'm looking for an external hard drive probably around the 250-350GB range so its going to have to be a 3.5". The thing is I want something as small and portable as possible but obviously with a 3.5" drive it going to need a power supply, none of the websites seem to show or mention the power adapter that the drives come with? Do you know which brand or specific drive has the smallest most slimline power adapter for their drives?

Thanks

I think they are around the same, no matter what brand you go for they are like a brick, why don't you try laptop drives? Buy the largest laptop drive you can find and just get the little enclosure off eBay for under $AU20.

Thanks for the replies guys, the reason I'm looking at 3.5" is because I want a large drive so that I wont need more than one to keep all my files and backups (ideally 300GB+), I did look at 2.5" drives but they seem to max out at around the 120GB and you pay a premium for the size. I think I've found a good option though, the Iomega 500GB USB 2.0 its obviously got an external power supply but unlike a lot of the others available the power block is part of the plug so theres no (plug)-(cable)-(power block)-(cable) so its a little better.

Cheers

Ryan
