mother board upgrad for pci-e

I am upgrading my current mother board to get one with a pci-e slot as I also plan to get a new video card, and believe pci-e is the best way to go, so might as well as make the change now. System specs are below, as I plan to keep all items, aside from the old m/b and vid card.

Im looking for a m/b in the 100$ (USD) price range, up to about $120. No specific demands, except for pci-e (sli is also a plus, but kinda doubt ill never use it), sata, and ethernet (gigabit?), decent on board sound would also be nice to. I dont know if a dual cpu board is avalible for socket 939, or even worth it...

My video card will also be replaced, with something more pwoerful, mid range of course, maybe in the 150 range, nvidia or ati, but im not familiar with ati line.

Sorry for the long thread, but I greatly appreciate everyone recomendations.
I was looking at the ABIT KN8 SLI NVIDIA Socket 939 ($100)
and the Asus A8N SLI Deluxe NVIDIA Socket 939 (119$) if those are any good...

Thanks
Michael

well im not sure when pci-e came in but if you didnt have it before doesnt tha tmean your HD is IDE? and gigabite is great for ethernet is a great
maybe something like fore the video card
ASUS GeForce EN7300LE 128MB (TurboCache 512MB) PCI-Express video card.
and for the mobo i dont know... are you interested in getting something that supports both ddr and ddr2?

Thanks for the suggestions, I think that A8N deluxe looks like a good choice, just not sure about the vid cards, would like something thats halfway between my current 5700 and a top of the line card. So would that 7300 fall in the middle, or any good ATI cards?

Thanks

lol, ill have to wait a few years for that to go on discount, but thanks. Im actualy looking for something that would fall in the middle range of that, Image Viewer ASUS EAX1800XT/2DHTV/512M Radeon X1800XT 512MB and my current one a nvidia 5700LE. Price range from 100-250$

The ones listed by praetor look good, but still having trouble deciding on what would be a good mid range one, im leaning towards the
[PCIE][ATi] Sapphire 100105SR-BL Radeon X800XL 256MB ($169.00).

ya lol i dont think anyone wants to spend that much m,oeny on a video card... that gets pretty crazy... that fear games like the most demandind video card game isnt it, any idea what the minimum specs are on that game

Not at all
and gigabite is great for ethernet
gigbyte has nothing to do with ethernet?
maybe something like fore the video card
ASUS GeForce EN7300LE 128MB (TurboCache 512MB) PCI-Express video card.
That's actually a fairly terrible video card. its quite a bit worse then even a 6600, a 7300GS would be a better choice if hes on a low budget, but for the buget he says(yp to 150$) i would suggest a 7600GT which you can get for under 120$

Thanks Arm Pit, Ill look into that 7600GT. Its best if they where work well out of the box, as I dont plan and doing overclocking.

gigabite has nothing to do with ethernet? i thought it did i had to install a gigabite driver to get my ethernet card to work and the driver disc says that the gigabite ethernaet card is for networking? and i wasnt sure about the pci-e and the sata part........lol thats the video card i have :( i was told it was good, and well it works good for wolfenstein ET

If you have onboard then you would need to install the drivers from your motherboard company, but generally its not the mobo's company chip actually, either way, ethernet is ethernet and theres not much to being better or worse.

How does the ATI Radeon X1600 Pro fare against the 7600GT, its on special for tiger at $149 ? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=1830017&sku=A177-3094

Although it looks like the motherboard would have to be crossfire compatible, and mean changing mother boards again from the A8N deluxe, which I dont know that would be worth it.

The PNY Verto GeForce 7600 GT / 256MB GDDR3 however is $124, which I guess is my best choice unless you think there may be something better for about 150 ish..

Thanks

Honestly i think the 7600gt rite now is the best bang for your buck..and with oc it a little its a monster for the price...compared it to my 6800gt and well theyre like neck and neck.
