Hi,

I have been looking at motherboards and have come across the 64bit ones. I have read the mobo101 and found out about them but what im not sure one is:

Will all my programs/hardware i have on my computers now run on a 64bit Mobo?

Many thanks

Joe

Hi,

Thanks for the reply

To be honest i don't have a clue.

Im guessing it means a chip but im not sure

Many thanks

Joe

The 64 bit refers to your CPU, not your motherboard. And no, it most likely wont say it in the add/remove hardware section.

What processor do you have?

Hi 0MEGA,

I'm currently on an ollldddd motherboard P3 999mhz or something like that.
I want to build myself a computer and came across these chips.

What i ment about the chip was:

If i bought one of these and the correct Mobo etc would my PCI cards and my compuer programs(like Maya/Cubase etc) still work properly?

Many thanks

joe

I see no reason why they wouldn't, unless your PCI devices aren't compatible with the newer PCI standard.

Also remember that a 64-Bit CPU is useless unless you have a 64-Bit OS.
