Motherboard compatibility ?????

hi i have a p4p 800 with a 120 gb western digitial running at 2.8ghz 800 front bus and i recently bought a 1 gb stick ram ddr 400 pc3200 and i just recieved it i installed it in my comp and i also have a 256 ram once i installed tthe 1gb wont recognize it, it only says theres 256mb? any help its like its not recognizing it? and if i put it in all alone by itself the screen doesnt even turn on ? any help thanks. o heres the link for the ddr 400 spefications etc

A 1GB stick from ebay....... maybe it could just be broken, I don't like buying computer equipment off ebay....
