Motherboard cooling

I know that the better mobos dont just have NB and SB heatsinks, they also have a mosfet heatsink and another heatsink directly above the cpu, what is this cooling?

Well I recently installed an innovatek water cooling system. It is superb. It is very quiet and keeps the CPU no more than 10C over room temperature.

It also cools the drives and motherboard chipset, addressing the main reliability issues -- fewer fans and cooler drives.

It's spendy though, but worth it for the silence.

Some motherboards have heatpipes too. If your motherboard isn't cool chances are it will heat up all other components on and near it.

The mosfets/voltage regulators. They can deliver cleaner power if they arent hot enough to fry an egg on like some really cheap mobos without cooling are.
