Motherboard CPU Shopping Questions

Hey guys, so I just sold my laptop and I plan on building a pc. Mainly from tiger direct, anyways so I also have a dell dimension 8200, and was just wondering if it is ok to use my existing case, power supply, and I have an older ATI Radeon video card, dvd burner, etc. and was just wondering while waiting to pic up a sli video card is it ok to just use this card, as well as my other computer components. Or do you think a new case and power supply is neccessary?

Any advice would be awesome!

You will need a new power supply...the Dell Dimension 8200 comes with a 250w power supply that only has 12 amps on the 12v rail. This will be insufficient for any upgrades of any kind.

You will also need a new case...the Dell Dimension 8200 is a BTX form factor. These are special motherboards that have a completely different design than a standard ATX motherboard. The motherboards you have chosen are ATX and will not even come close to fitting in that case.

If you are going to spend almost $900 just on motherboard, processor and RAM...you might want to look at Intel Core i7 setup. Even the basic Core i7 set up would blast that combo you have chosen. Below is what I think is a much better way to spend your money.
