Motherboard/CPU upgrade (final)

Okay, sorry for all the threads, I will keep everything in this one.Oh, Cheese, my brain is barfing. So many choices, so much time.Okay, I really want it to stay under $80, if it is a awesome board, $85 max.It will probobly be paired with a i5 2500.I have these picked out: Open Box: MSI Z68A-G43 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel Z68 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS OR Brand new Gigabyte GA-P67A-D3-B3 (rev. 1.0) - motherboard - ATX - LGA1155 Socket - P67 Some questions:Does a h67 overclock?Does a 2500 overclock with the non k?

You can overclock a non-K CPU, but not as far as a K CPU because the non-K CPUs are not unlocked. You can maybe overclock a non-K chip by several hundred MHz maybe.

I'd go for either a P67 or Z68 board, just get whichever one is cheaper.

Yeah, but how about a p8p67-pro, which is nearly exactly like your board vista, but with a different chipset. Can you power on a mobo without an io shield?

A P8P67 PRO would be nice. :)

Not whilst the board is installed in a case you can't, as the I/O shield grounds the board from the case. I may not be correct, but you'd want an I/O shield anyway just for convenience really.

The P8P67 PRO is a good board, it will be good for your 2500 or whatever you decide to gwet.
