Motherboard/CPU with GTX 780

Ended up screwing my system build last year and I had to settle for a 990FXA-UD3 board with an AMD FX-8350. Apparently that's not quite enough to allow the video card to do much. Can anyone suggest a good motherboard/CPU combo that won't choke the graphical resources of my card?

Probably $300-400. It just kinda depends on the combo. I'm not even sure how much performance upgrade there will be with a better CPU, but I thought I'd give it a shot since I have a decent card.

At least right now you won't be facing huge bottlenecks with that chip. Yes the i7 will get you better frames, but the increase is marginal for how much you'll have to spend. Example of Crysis 3 on several different chips.

That's only one game but the cost increase probably isn't worth the few extra frames you'll get. Also note that that video is a with a GTX 980, which is even better than a 780.

Unless you've got money to burn, I'd just stick with what you have and overclock the 8350 if you want.

Not exactly up to speed on the whole overclocking deal, but I only have a stock fan at the moment. If I used the regular motherboard overclock option, would that run cool enough?
