Ok, i bought this dfi lanparty ultra d motherboard, and i have a fan controller, and ive got all my fans at a nice noise level, but the motherboard fan, covering the nvidia nforce chip is really loud, its like a high pitched buzzing, could i either slow it down or replace it?

if i was to slow it down, how would i know when it is overheating, is there any temp sensor or anything?

this is the fan

are you sure is not touching the SLI cards or somehing? i can see those two slots coming really close to it.

No, because the actual fan is the white bit, the rest is just the fan framework, anything else you know of, such as slowing it down?

You may be able to use the fan from the Iceberq4. This is a common replacement fan for the Abit IC7-G that I have. You should be able to remove the fan itself from your board and install the fan only from the Iceberq. That is what I have done and much quieter and no reduction in fan speed. If you change the chipset hsf make sure you do not use any kind of epoxy to affix to the chipset as that will void your warranty and do not alter the board to be able to use another hsf.
Congratulations on a great new mobo.
