ive been looking for a motherboard for a processor i've had laying around. its a wolfdale e5300 2.6 ghz and supposedly a 64 bit processor. it needs to have like 3 pci slots or 2 ide ports cause i use 2 pata harddrives and 2 pata disk drives. if it only has one, i have a ide controller which is why i need the extra pci. so yeah....oh and 4 ram slots. i use 800 ddr2 ram. ive heard good things about the 5300 which is why i think someone on here might be able to help me find what i'm looking for. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks.

Here is one that meets all your legacy hardware requirements.

It comes in two flavors, with onboard vid and without. Can be a bit tricky to set up under XP so read the instructions carefully if you get one of these. Vista and Win 7 seem to be okay.

that is exactly what i need. thanks. but dang if i can't find a good deal on one. its cheaper on newegg than it is on ebay. haha. oh well. thanks for the help. more suggestions would be great too.

Okay, so, If possible, i'd like a board thats a little better than suggested. can someone give me any ideas of what is compatible with an e5300 so i can do a bit of hunting on my own. the one suggested seems good, but reviews say getting the OS is a real pain and really not much of a gaming board which is more of what i'm looking for. an help is appreciated.

Sorry that doesn't work out... you might want to look into a couple of adapters for your PATA drives. It will save you from having to find 3 slot PCI support. You could then go with about any decent gaming board that will support your e5300. Decent device and does what it advertises.

yeah. write now i'm not so worried about the specifics. im just trying to find out what is compatible with the e5300. i know older 775 boards cant use as i've tried plenty.

alright, i've decided, that i want to use this cpu for a gaming setup. may not be the same choice but from what i've heard it can easily oc to like 3.0. so, i need a good gaming board to match. any suggestions?

no budget. well, about 250 actually. looking for something to hold my 4 gb ddr2 800 ram. though if its suggested i get some thats faster for a better system thats fine.
