Don`t sling arrows my way or I`ll reroute them to my daughter....
She has (or had) a Compaq Presario desktop. A "P4GV-LA" motherboard. She had plugged a laptop into a usb port out of curiousity....I know....I know....Now the problem and what is fried:
When I plug the desktop pc into the electrical receptacle, both fans are automatically running just as if I pushed the "on" button. It powers up no doubt, but nothing happens, no monitor activity or boot up. The green light in the back of the unit is on, but the green light in front that used to come on when the desktop pc was turned on is not on now. I went by the specs and reset the bios, etc. Is the motherboard gone on to greener pastures or might there be something else I should look at. I`m not a tech, but I do know my way around inside of a pc a fair amount.
